I am trying to figure out a cool way to do my trunk, the painter didnt paint inside!?!?!

I dont know if I should upholster it, or paint and put a mat down and call it quits...

A good thing is I called him and asked him for some of the left over pain to fix chips that I have made with the darn window trim. He says just bring the car by when I'm done, and he will fix them. Maybe Ill have him shoot the trunk.

I think i`d have him shoot it and then you can make up your mind from there. Wonder why he didn`t paint it at the same time?

hi matt! money wise, paint the trunk. get a new mat (matt;)). it will look great:tu...........tire cover too:D

:tu Hey Matt, I would have your painter paint it to match, I would think it would be part of the origional paint job anyway! Then you can lay down a mat for now and in the future have it upholstered, which I prefer and think really adds class to your ride.

.
I did my own in India Ivory with a new rubber mat and seal.
I painted the insulation in the openings flat black.
The car is being painted now and they will skip the trunk except the drip rail and up to the seal on the lid.

These are nice..............................

Thanks guys, I did talk to the painter this morning.... He says he will paint the trunk. I realy like the upholstery kit. I think I will try to make them myself. I have been trying to find some upholstered trunks, but not much luck. You guys have been the most help yet.

Oh Jeez! Good one, I am putting air bags in DUH! I have been working so hard on this car that I forgot that I need to hide the airbag pumps and air tank:D. That is a good example, but I am not crazy about the plexy.

Take a look at Ronnie's 55. I have seen his car in person and it is really nice. A guy made the trunk kit for him with raised chevy emblem on it. Turned out good.
