so i take it, TS means extended tip? ya know how that helps? thanx.
NO, TS means "tapered seat" and they would be a 5/8 hex instead of the 13/16 hex the R45's with the sealing rings are. I have found the Autolite #295 works extremely well. They are the only plug that crosses to the AC R46 which has been discontinued for a while now.

TSX = tapered seat and extended tip.

For a camel hump head, you need AC 43,44,or 45. Standard plug, 3/8" reach, gasket seat. Or 43S, 44S, or 45S, which is a projected tip, 3/8" reach, gasket seat. 43 is the coldest of the three, 45 is the hottest.

I would run a 44S or equivalent in a typical street performance engine. You can find the equivalent Champion, Autolite, or NGK number at most any place that sells spark plugs.

Everybody has their favorite brand of spark plug, just like oil. They are all the same unless you've had a particularly bad or good experience.

my double-hump heads, AC r45`s were it them. wandering if i should keep using them, or anyone has a better idea? thanx. 355, comp cams #292 cam, 65o carb. thanx again.:confused0006:
Heres a link on spark plugs in fo
www.sparkplugs.com, then go to sparkplug 411, then advanced tuners, lots of info

hddude: I made a mistake on the plug info, HRhandyman is right about the TS suffix on the AC plugs they are the 5/8 small plugs. The 13/16 old style plugs for the old double hump heads are AC 44-AC 44S these are non resistor plugs. A R44-R44S is a resistor plug. The S at the end of the number is to identifiy that the plug has a extended electrode tip. The extended tip does not foul out as easy as the std. tip. On the heat range the 43 is the coolest and up to the 46 which is hotter . Back in the day I ran the AC 45S plug in my 283 that I drag raced, it had 2-4S, Herbert cam, etc. AC has discontinued a lot of these plugs I think. On a side note I have a set of Accel U grove, extended tips to go in the camel hump heads on the 283 I am building to go in my 55. Hope this helps.

hddude I am going to keep this set of Accels for my 55. Got them and three other sets from a friend that has a parts store. He gets a lot of warehouse closeout items, etc. sold them to me for a $1.00 each. This is the last set I have left.
