They were oem in several places on these cars like the stripped one that hold the E- brake to the dash on my 55. I remember going to junkyard 35 years ago when whole 56 ft clips on some cars were assembled with these #$%) things.

I have seen 56 cars that the inner fenders and front fenders were attached with them. I almost 40 years later I can hear my das cuss them because I always wanted the fender held on with them. Dad used to say them and the metric system were commie plots. Back then we had tools for neither,those were some good times.
