+1 on the shims from Speedway. I bought one of the triangular ones from them to better align the crank pulley as it was a touch off.

My apologies... I just noticed that you asked me a question. This is the kit I have. I do admit there are better kits to have.http://www.harborfreight.com/45-piece-threaded-insert-riveter-kit-1210.html

That is the kit I have. I have used it to set 1/4-20 steel inserts into the frame, but it was not fun. Need longer handles!

Can you weld some pieces of pipe on the ends of the handles and gain some leverage? You might even be able to make or bend some offsets in the pieces to get a better grip maybe?

I might try that. At this point anything would help.

What I know about automatic transmissions would fit in a thimble. Last year i got hooked on this guys YouTube videos. Professional transmission rebuilder at work. I have watched a couple of dozen of his videos and learn all kinds of things. I have to admit, i like his videos so much I would probably ask him to do one for me if I was to ever give up my stick shifts.

Same here. Auto transmissions are voodoo to me. I watch this guy hoping I can learn something, but it’s not sticking in my brain. Two items I leave to professionals are auto transmissions and rear ends.
