Hello out there. Im confused about my Suspension on my 210 2dr. I installed a system by a company know as Checker racing out of Indiana. It came equiped with QA1 Coilovers But, the car rides hard as HELL!. These are non adjustable units. I never drove a car withe coilover shocks. is this common, or should i search for a higher dollar shock.

I'm also running a Big Block and the front end is really slamming hard too. I am using OEM control arms with B/B springs. I thought I would have simulated the ride and feel of a Chevelle. However; like I said, She feels More like a FourWheel drive Truck.I need info on Components to make my car roadable.

you need to scale the car and get it weights then buy springs accordingly.

That sounds like a good idea. I figured i might find somebody with a similar vehicle {55 210} that already came across the same issue and, could suggest a certain part number or brand most commonly used for this application.

Are your springs adjustable? Mine are and I can soften it up if needed.
In his 1st post:

it is not really about buying different coil overs but more likely new springs. this is why for the average guy the pocket kit is the best mod out back. it involves no scaling of the vehicle. Honestly without weighing the completed car it is almost impossible to get the spring rate correct, however leaf springs are very forgiving in this area.

THE ONLY WAY TO GET SPRING RATE CORRECT IS TO WEIGH THE COMPLETED CAR . GET THE FRONT AXLE WEIGHT AND THE REAR AXLE WEIGHT. EVEN IF YOU JUST GO TO A TRUCK STOP TO DO IT, THIS WILL ALLOW SOMEONE TO SELL YOU SOME PROPERLY RATED SPRINGS. shock angle is a big factor as well. shocks mounted totally vertical (straight up) will ride the worst, angled around 18 degrees works really good. typicly a 150# or 200# spring works for the back but it all depends on lots of things. the more the angle the stronger the spring needed. some pics of your setup would help also.

Turbowolf, Do you know what spring rate came with the kit? What is the spring height at ride height? Did they give you recommended ride height for the kit and the shock? Does the suspension move if you bounce on the rear bumper? I know I'm full of questions, but it will help me get an idea where you are at and help you get it figured out.
