Hello,
My 56 is far from done, so no car shows for it for a while, but I've been taking my 78 Camaro to the local shows for the past few years. My wife has ayways wanted a dodge challenger, so we just bought her a brand new model...She wanted to drive it to the show, so she did, parked right next to my 78, and we had a good time!
Now normally, I walk right past new cars in the shows thinking what does a new car represent, that this person could take out a loan from the bank... I want to see old cars, and I really like the ones who, like I, put a book of pictures out which shows the restoration process. I was sort of feeling silly for participating in the whole new car thing, and then it occured to me... What was a car show like in say 1970, when brand new or nearly new camaro's, chevelles, nova's were running around.... Were then accepted or snubbed at the shows?
BTW, I was made the same year as my 78 camaro, so I have no idea what it was like then...
