Use window setting tape also known as oil tape. Don't mess around with the setting rubber Danchuk sells.

To find the correct size tape (thickness) measure the width of the channel first. Next measure the glass thickness. Subtract the glass size from the channel size. Take that number and divide it by two. The sum would be the tape thickness needed.

I wrapped the glass with the tape and set it in the channel. It should fit snug, but not too tight. Next I used kerosene on it. You let the kerosene permeate the tape, so you actually pour some onto the windows and let it soak in. After the night goes by and the next day comes, the tape swells up and the glass is nice and tight. Clean off the excess kerosene and use a sharp Xacto or razor and trim the excess tape from the glass flush with the frame. Some others have used different things besides kerosene, but the clean up with the kerosene is not too bad.

I found the tape on the net from a restoration shop. If you look here:

You should be able to find what you need.

Before you take the front door glass out, mark the glass where it meets the window frame edge. You could set the glass too far back or forward where it won't fit back in the guides. Rear glass is easier to see. :anim_25:
