Well, I've really gone and done it now! This big fella is a 1956 Chevy 2 ton low cab forward with a 265, 4 speed with a two speed rear axle. The sheet metal is in really good shape just needs a cab corner, some small rust repair here and there and a little floor work.

My wife fell in love with it at first sight. I think it'll make a great car hauler.
The pickup bed comes with it, but it just sitting on there. It was a grain hauler with a dump bed, but it and the hydraulics have been taken off.

Truer words were never spoken. She has been wanting one of these for a long time. The best part, she's wants to help redo it. I may never have to touch a sand blaster again.

Thanks Roger, it should be fun. This is going to be a low budget build. I know, that's another thing everybody says. The guy we bought it from is a fellow rodder and tri-fiver and I will have to post a picture of his current project when I pick it up next week. It's a real jaw dropper.

Hey buddy! Yeah it's just frozen water. You probably have some in your lemonade right now. lol. Sometimes we actually surf on it. You strap a couple barrel staves on your feet. We call it skiing. I know, it's crazy.

Not sure I want to go that far with it. Yes, the true COE's are very cool especially 40's and early 50's but much harder to come by and cost a bunch.

That should make a cool looking ride.

They aren't easy to find still running and drivable. And it's barely drivable. Lol, yeah I'm not sure if there really is such a thing as a low budget build. Wishing you a Merry Christmas too buddy.

Since I'm in a so called "Low Budget Build" and really do not know what those numbers are, I would like to hear what everyone thinks those numbers should be in todays dollars?

Dan I don't think there is one good answer for that. It's all relative. And this ain't no Cameo!

To me, low budget means to do what it takes to make it safe, tires, brakes, steering, etc. Then, rust removal, general cleanup and paint to make it look as nice as possible, as cheaply as possible. Then enjoy it!

I think doing a true budget build is probably more challenging and easily just as rewarding.
