My frame is almost ready for paint. It has been sandblasted, epoxy primed, and I've smoothed the rough areas. What is the best sprayable (with a spray gun) satin black paint out there? I don't need a paint that has rust prevention characteristics, like POR-15 or similar products.

Has anyone here used Eastwood's Chassis Black?

Stay away from POR15 and the Eastwood product. The SPI will be far more durable. And I wouldn't paint my lawnmower with POR15. It's just nasty stuff that doesn't live up to the claims. The only thing it sticks to with tenacity is your skin.

You could go one step farther and spray a urethane 2K satin black or semi gloss black topcoat, there are several out there or you can mix flattening agent to get exactly the gloss you want.

Alright guys, thanks for thr help. The SPI fan boys win, I'm going with their epoxy primer on my frame.
Ive been amazed with their products.
Their customer service is awesome too. Ive read tons of posts where a user had a question and called the tech line. Apparently the tech line is Barry's (the owner) cell phone, which he answers just about 24/7..

Been there; done that, wore the mark of the beast

I've had nothing but good experiences with POR-15.
I changed my mind. I'm going to try Eastwood 2k Satin Ceramic Chassis paint. I'm going to paint the frame next weekend, with 1 coat of gray epoxy primer, followed by one coat of the Eastwood paint. I'll report how it turns out.

I tried the Eastwood 2k Satin Ceramic Chassis paint once, I found it had very little resistance to fuel solvents etc. I would either have a frame powder coated or go to the local body supply and get a QUALITY 2 part single stage urethane pre-flattened paint.

You must not have used it much then. I HATE that stuff!
I used it correctly, over a rusty surface. IT needs a rough, rusty surface for best adhesion.

I ordered two quarts of Eastwood's Extreme Chassis Black in satin. One quart may have been enough, but I was afraid I'd run short. Thanks for the responses, guys!

Barry is the best, That man can walk you thru any issue. Spent a lot of time on the phone with him. Their paint is great to.
