I am looking to add a Weiand 142 or 144 supercharger to my current setup. I have a 350 with Vortec heads. I am leaning in the direction of the 144 as I would like to not have to cut my hood...I'm going after the "sleeper" look. I was curious if anyone has either on their rig and was able to not cut the hood.

I have the Weiand 177 under the hood of a 55 not sure off dif of a 55 to 57.

Had plenty of room. Look at my photos you can get a ideal from that.
Plus on the web site for those blower you can get the height specs as well.

buddy of mine has a 144 on his 57 wagon an has plenty of room to the hood. it improved the takeoff conciderably and mid to top end made all the difference. dont know his rear gears cam or pully teeth. but it does run

The 55 has more room under the hood than the 57.
There are several guys on Trifive that have a small blower on their SB.
The Weiand 142 and 177 does not have the Teflon rotors and seem to be more popular.
Just plan on a different camshaft and larger air cleaner for maximum performance

Another deep-bodied '55. SBC in stock location, Weiand 142, K&N pn 66-3040 air cleaner.

Pic taken just after shakedown run. Temporary fuel line hose.
