Does anyone know of a good source for rebuilt carburetors (1955 2GC) other than Mike's Carburetor?
Mine is not working well after rebuilding it so I just decided to get one from Mike's. Paid extra to get it here in two days. The one they sent does not have the vacuum advance port on the right side even though the picture for this carb on their Website clearly shows it being there. So, I called and the other two they have in stock also do not have the port. According to their site, this carb is for a 55-58 Chevy V8. Perhaps the 1958s did the vacuum advance differently? Anyway, very disappointed. I told them that they had better let people know that there is no port on these. The woman said they would just change the picture on the Website. Sounds pretty slipshod to me.

There is a carb man in Rockford IL called "The Quad shop" I had one done there, but turn around time was about 2 months, however they did a fantastic job. The old girl never ran better.......

when the Nomad was restored, my dad got a rebuilt carb from NAPA, looked identical to the original one that we had as a backup. probably was not a "correct" carb but we were not concerned.

I ended up rebuilding the original last year with a kit from oreillys, was 21 bucks. Has everything you need unless the idle screws are bad, you will have to get those separate.
