Been playing with cars and trucks for quite some time being 71 years young and really appreciate the designs and such of the old everyday parts that GM used to make back in the day. Today's new offerings, not so much, seems just too much plastic and cookie cutter everything is the same look.

Had an old beat up Chevy truck hubcap from back in the late 60s - early 70s. Also an old SBC scripted valve cover that had a fair amount of rust on the mounting edge for the gasket. Neither were usable or presentable in their present condition but after a trip thru the glass bead and a bit of time, masking, paint and such came up with these.

Hubcap clock for the garage:
Just hate to trash old parts if I can make them live again.

Nice stuff....Love garage art DIY projects.

Nice designs Dualfour. I have a habit of not throwing things out and have accumulated many parts over the years. During the winter months I try to keep busy and get creative turning some of my stuff into one off pieces for myself or to sell if I go to a flea market.
The BB valve cover I found after it had been run over. Spent a lot of time fixing it because I thought it would make a nice lamp. I have also cut the Chevrolet script from old valve covers and welded them into custom air cleaners I have made for my cars. The piston clocks make great gifts. My adult children each have one from engines I had to replace for them when they were teenagers.
