Save the new panels until after she's driven it a while.
Let her "learn" on these and let them get dirty or scuffed up.
Then put the new ones on.

So when are you guys headed out?
In the morning?
Be careful and have a GREAT time!!!!:tu

Here is the Thank You sign Storm and her friend made up tonight.
For being good artists, they need to work on their lettering skills a little. Maybe a bit more practice:rolleyes:Anyways, she got it done and will proudly display it with the car.

I guesss it's a goodthig we didn't run the car for too log this year. After the nasty RR tracks I found the exhaust had rattled loose.

I found one loose clamp on the tailpipe, and one stripped stud on the maifold. I removed the manifold and replaced all three studs. The repositioned the exhaust and clamped everything tight again.

While I was tinkering with the car I wanted to find out why the throttle wouldn't allow it to idle down lower than 1300 RPM's. I removed the carb and looked it over. The only thing I found was that when Storm put it together She installed the throttle plates (lower butterflies) in backwards and it was holding it open just a little too much. I switched them around and centered them in the lower plate. Looks likea good seal now. Put everything back together and fired it up. Now the idle was too low. Readjusted the idle screw and got her to idle really well at 800RPM's. Did a quick torque check (forward motion with brakes applied) and she spun the tires with the brake on, so she's good to go.

Still have to get it to the alignment shop though.

Fuzzy & Storm.

Congratulations!!!

I hope your day was A LOT of FUN!!!! The Power Tour was here today....I was unable to make it!

As far as the sign....it's all in the heart! What a kind gesture from Storm! This last year will be remembered by her...and you, for the rest of your lives. And, I think, by all of us who have had the pleasure of being here with the both of you through the process.

What a great time to be involved in this hobby of restoring and building Trifive's!!!! One of these days....we will cruise the streets together.

Enjoy everyday as much as you can!!!!

Pete

In the infamaous words of Roscoe P Coultrain

Goods News!!! Good NEWS!!!!

Well yesterday I get a postcard mailing Dated May 28 stating they were sorry for the delay, but were working on the problem. I kinda laughed beceuase I had talked to them on the 31st and already knew this.

This morning I checked my email and the top email was from Year one. The order is being shipped 6/10/09:tu So that means the door panels are finally on their way.

They'll probably get here just in time for me and my son to head off to Boy scout camp for 10 days.

Yesterday the Mrs wanted to go pick Storm up in the 57.

It was Storm's last day of exams, and she was done at around 11 am.

Gave her a quick rundown of how it will handle and off she went. Quickly called the insurance guy to let hime know we needed to take it out for a test drive today to make sure everything works. "No problem it covered."

Storm came out of the school looking for the big orange truck but didn't see it:confused: Porbably figured Mom forgot the time. Then she spotted the fornt end of the 57 stickin g out in the crowd and was smiling:D

Later whe it was time to pick up little brother. Sotrm wanted to take the 57 to pick him up too.

Strom drove while I was in the shot gun seat. Ended up parking a block away. While we were waiting. One of th home opwners was out watering his lawn ans shouted out " Hey nice car. I saw it in the paper" You're the one that built it right?" To which Storm replied with a big smile " Thank you. and Yes I am"

He told her "It Loooks great. You must be very proud of it" Another short answer from Storm "yep".

By then the kids were coming out and we saw litle bro standing at the corner looking . So Storm fired up the car and turned around to go pick him up at the corner.

Along the way one of the mom's she knows Stopped her in the middle of the street to congratulate her on the car and gettting her license. Well Storm say" I don't have the regular one yet just my temps." The mom told her the car looks great and good luck on the driving test.

Storm's gonne have to get used to a lot of this stuff.

Well we finaly got to the corner to pick up little bro. He hopped in the back seat (after DAD OPENED THE DOOR FROM INDSIDE). witha big smile:D tooo. I couldn't find the car. WHAT? It's the only one like it and you couldn't find it? To which he replied. " Dad, I was looking for Mom's truck"

And off we went for home listening to the kids yelling out " cool car. I like your car. and Look at that one." I do believe Storm is beginning to enjoy hearing things like that.

I suppose when you think about it, you guys are pretty famous, especially in the tri-five world. 45000 page views:eek:. I even show my wife (who's not much interested in cars) what a guy and he's daughter have been up to over in the states, top job guys:tu
