I think my Chevy was a good starter in this weather ,how about yours ?
sub zero here this morning. Use to wake to go to work at (1970) Loblaws grocery store ,lookEd out side. Would not be any snow on the car . It would not stick to it . I used polishing compound on paint, was really smooth and with the wax ,slick !
mom would look at that car not avit of snow on it. Won’t even need to brush it off .

Yup...In the mid 60's I went to school and work every day in the winter in MA in my 57 Chevy.

I remember one winter that I did break off my shift lever that had froze-up somehow...Instead of foxing it, I installed my first floor shift...It was a Sparkomatic...What a POS...It shifted OK, but the vibration noise it made ai cruising speeds was unbearable....I swapped it out for a Fenton (that I still have to this day) later on and all was fine.

I did exactly the same thing on my first 57, on a below zero morning on the way to school I broke off the lever and convinced my dad it was easier to install a floor shifter(sparkomatic)(pos)
