Some one was asking about blue dot lens where the dot was high (behind the bulb) on the lens. I found a pair today at swap meet. Whom ever, send me a PM.:wavey:

Me too, but if their boss says: "you gotta write 100 tickets today..."I think law enforcement would have bigger issues to worry about.

Do you cruise woodward ?Here in Mich I called the state police and asked them. The officer said they are illegal but he wouldn't come right out and say that they don't enforce it. All he would say is your not supposed to run them. I think I'll chance it and take a roll of duct tape to cover the dots if needed.
You are rightBlue dots and open headers, the only way to roll!:thrasher:
No I don't have it drivable quite yet.Do you cruise woodward ?
Well, I did not know, and appreciate you posting up this info :tu:tu:tuIf you're going to run blue dots, go with the glass version. The plastic ones do not glow blue very well and have been known to melt.
You guys may or may not know that blue dots were used during the war to trick enemy aircraft into believing the purple glow was something other than a car's taillights. Some car manufacturer's during that time did issue them either as a dealer option or you could buy them over the counter. Once the war ended so was the blue dot. But the teenagers thought they were pretty cool and started using them on their cars which then prompted law enforcement to clamp down.
I agree with others that you can pretty much get away with it so long as you don't run into some cadet looking to make his first ticket. Alot of officers have hot rods of their own and will cut you some slack especially with a classic car or truck. Or pack stock lenses with you to change back if needed.
You do need to line the bulb up with the dot to get the full effect.
Have you seen the 57 tail light lense with the 59 Caddy style bullet in it. Looks all right for a custom job.I've been driving my 55 every chance I can for the past 6 years - to work, shows, cruises, never had a problem. Admit though I'm considering LEDs for better visibility.
I agree. I don't think that add anything at all....BUT I've nevr really undrstood why you want them in the tail lights anyways??
Just went with LEDs that Bryant built for me and also added a 3rd brake light (idea from Dave) to my 55 and it greatly improved my lights. :tuI've been driving my 55 every chance I can for the past 6 years - to work, shows, cruises, never had a problem. Had them on my old '66 chevelle for years never any trouble with the law. They were too busy looking at the rest of the car.I will definatly be putting them on the '55 just because I think they add about 30 hp and :they are so BADDDD AZZZZ!:bandit:If I go to jail I hope it's for having blue dots!!3:
