Good Morning! On this day in 1957, the first Frisbees came off the machine presses at the Wham-O toy company, setting off a flying-disc craze that has never waned, as any Frisbee golfer can attest.

When "Frisbees" were first invented in 1947 after the Roswell incident, they were called "Flying Saucers" and were later renamed "Pluto Platters". Later the owners of Wham-O bought the rights to the "Pluto Platter" and renamed it the "Frisbee".
