Who has bought a new center section for the rear 57. I am want to replace the sedan section with a wagon center. Who has the the best made?.

Was`nt happy with the Danchuk`s version of fitment to the bumper ends.It`s sitting on a shelf because of that.Maybe the stamping has gotten better since then.Thankfully it came to me at a lower price but it`s still serves me no purpose without modification.On the plus side I have stored away several OEM ones for future use.

I bought a Danchuk wagon center for my '57, and it mated up fine with the new bumper ends.

This is the Danchuck center section I bought on my original replated ends. Still needs some adjustments.....but has some imperfections I didn't see until until I mounted. I surely hope East Coast Chevy will exchange it.

The other alternative is to send an original out to be rechromed. If you are not looking for 1000 point Duesenberg chrome, Don's East Coast Chevy does a pretty fair rechrome job. they did the rear bumper ends and rear bumper guards for my car and they came out pretty good.

Does East Coast actually have a chroming shop, or do they act as the middle man and send it out?

When I sent my original rear bumper to Don's for re-plating, he said he had to hold up on it for a month or so until he got enough pieces to send out a batch.
So based on that conversation, I would say he sends them out.
They did a real nice job on mine. Pretty happy with $185 plus shipping both directions. I had to wait a while but that wasn't any big deal, still not ready for it! I just wrapped in up real good and stuck it in the attic.

He has a local guy and he does decent work, decent enough for me anyhow.

Not great photos but what I have. Dons did the bumper ends and the guards. The center I bought at the 2015 nationals. Dons work was better.

Don't know about a 57 but I like the way mine fites on the 55 (Danchuck) ..... :tu
