a fast Miata?

A neighbor of mine has a Mazda Miata. Before you let out a great big yawn - it happens to be equipped with a Corvette drivetrain.

He took it out for a drive the other day, and decided to blow out the cobwebs. He posted the following photo on Facebook afterward.

My wife and I have an agreement - I will never, ever go for a ride in this car. She'd rather have me than the money from my life insurance policy. I concur.

Had a miata 20 years ago.
The intention was to set it up for scca racing, but I didnt have the money at the time.
At the time there were also guys putting big v8's in them , you know, the need for speed. A ford 302 would fit right in and then you could hop it up as much as you wanted.
Or you could go more radical....

There are kits out there to put LS engines in them... Not that difficult. A guy I used to work with was doing the swap but I never saw it finished.
