I wanted know if a 1956 right front door lock latch will work on a 1957 2dr sedan. From the outside view they look the same and the mount holes look to be in the same location.

As long as you take it from a 56 sedan to a 57 sedan you will be fine. There are a few differences between some models of 56 and others.
