hi guys, could someone give me a discription or pictures of the battery cable routing for a 57 v-8?
are the battery lugs closer to the fender or the radiator?
is the positive terminal closer to the front or rear?
wich way do the cables run and were?
were does the negative cable fasten to?
were are any other ground cables fastened?

Phil are you mounting it like the original was or what? I used a side post battery on mine and turned the posts in towards the inner fender to keep them more out of sight. Then i ran the positive cable down from there and back to the firewall and then across to the starter.

If you are using the original battery tray and want to route the original way.

Positive cable routed between the battery holder and the inner fender and it is to the rear and the battery negative cable is in the front and is also routed between the innerfender and the battery tray.

The battery is installed with the posts next to the fender. The negative battery cable is routed to the front right hand engine mount top bolt.

Be sure that you measure the cables before installation. You cannot add to a short one.

The installation manual and service manual are a must for owning a TRI-5.

Chuck

thanks guy's. chuck, thats what i need to know! i have the service book but not the ***. manual. my car was stripped before i got it so there was nothing to go by. a book i had called for a 45 inch pos cable and a 25 inch neg so thats what i got. the neg cable apears to short to install this way, but thats how i want it. it looks cleaner to me.:D
