A friend made me a good price on 2 brand new 572s, 2 new spare Lunati cranks, one new Whipple quad rotor supercharger and other BBC parts. These were spares for his poker run boat. Each motor made 1400HP at 14.5# boost on pump gas. Hope to be able to change pulleys, get the HP down to 1200 so I can use the Holley Terminator X as it will only support 1250HP. Hoping someone has some experience with it.

With what, Terminator X or swapping pulleys? I would talk to someone at Whipple and get some ratios from them to consider. Here is a video comparing different pulleys, adding boost. Same idea in reverse.

Look here for the pulley/boost chart>>> 2010-2015 Camaro SS Whipple 2.9L Supercharger - Crank Pulley Upgrade (6-rib) The chart is for a Camaro, but it gives you an idea it can be done with the right parts. Whipple pulleys for cranks>>> PULLEYS/BELTS :: CRANK PULLEYS - Whipple Superchargers Pulleys for the superchargers>>> PULLEYS/BELTS :: SUPERCHARGER PULLEYS :: AUTOMOTIVE - Whipple Superchargers

Give them a call.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate any and all help with this project. Would be hard to do on my own. I talked to Dustin Whipple a little bit last week before I found out Holley EFI only supported up to 1250HP. I plan to call him back when I find out more details about the motor, piston dish, head CC, cam specs (which will change). A few days later I decided it would be easier to detune it to 1200HP and use the Holley Terminator X. I am hopeing someone here has used the Holley system and give some opinion about their experience with it.

The 57 already has a 9 inch in it. I have a 4L80 I plan to use after some serious work is done to it. Going to sell my brand new, never bolted up Williams SBC headers. I plan to call him tomorrow about some BBC headers to see if he has big enough tube size, and discuss steering options. I already have his smoothed and recessed fire wall.

Super interested in this post and subscribed! I as well picked up a marine BBC 572 with a Chevrolet Sportsman Block, Dart Aluminum Heads, Crane Roller Valve train, 871 BDS Blower and two 750 Holley Double Pumpers for my Gasser project. The motor is supposed to have a Callies Crank, Carrillo Rods and be in the 1,000 to 1,200hp range. I dropped the motor off for disassembly this last weekend for the same step as you to find out what the heck I really have for internals. The Holley Terminator Max X so far seems the way to go with a 4L80E for my application 80% street and 20% strip on a 3,400lb car. Nothing like a blower motor starting right up, performance tunes at a switch and improved protection on the fly against damage. I think we are going to go with E85 for performance and cooling especially due to the fact I live in Arizona. I had to section my new firewall 8" wider just to get the monster to fit. Looking forward to your future posts.

e85 isn't an option for me as there are not many stations near me.

Really like your car! I like all tri fives, mine is a 57 but I like the dash better in the 55s. I might be a little prejudiced as I was born in 1955. I had 3 cousins they let me ride to high school with them. 2 had 57s, 1 had a 55.
Called Williams about headers today. He has 1 set left and doesn't plan to have any more. 2" primaries which is too small for me. If anyone is thinking about buying from him you better order quick.

the 1250 hp limit is an approximation and can be exceeded. there are things you can due to exceed that such as raising fuel pressure. also the rating is at capacity during 80% duty cycle of the injectors, so if you add another 15% to say 95% duty cycle you are there. that being said how often are you at 1400 hp on the street?? my guess not very often. and in all seriousness not like you can really do that often anyway. so if you raise the fuel pressure to 60psi instead of 46 psi and accept a higher duty cycle on the injectors at peak hp then it will support 1400+ hp. remember you are only at that large hp number when at WOT and loaded hard, with tire spin you may not ever actually see that number because the engine is not loaded hard enough to make it. just accepting duty cycle gets you more that the 1400hp, but raising the pressure will also get you there and you will be at a more realistic number for the duty cycle. as with anything this all comes at a risk. the higher the duty cycle the more likely you are to hurt something with a poor tuneup. and for a supercharged application you best have it on dyno with an experienced tuner or you will likely need to invest in some piston inventory.

keep in mind most aftermarket aluminum heads have raised exhaust ports. that will drastically affect header fit

Yes, I am looking at the paperwork for the heads but I don't see the Brodix part number. I am going to call the company my friend bought them from tomorrow.

I did talk to Don Lemons today about headers. He gave me a couple of options to consider. Notching frame slightly, Vega box, rack and pinion. Sounds like fenderwell won't work for me as I want a lowered front end stance.
I greatly appreciate all input!

Where are you located? There's a guy in Kingman Az that is dam good at building custom headers
