Hi i need a little guidance on my seat problem (no Jokes please!) The drivers side front seat, the back seems to be loose or broken at the side nearest the center. It moves back when you push on it vs. door side is firm. I am look for a little instruction on how to disassemble the back so i can see what the problem is at the inter side. I can only speculate that a screw has come out or that the bracket on that side broke? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help!

:) I've not had a problem like that, hopefully someone will chirp in and give you some good advice.
If no one does, you might try talking to a upholstery shop and see what they have to say?

If you take the seat "shells' off, you will see a stud at the pivot point. Take the 'C' clip off and pull out on the arm and release the heavy arm on the outside. Then move the seat back forward and back while pulling toward the door. The center stud should release and the seat back will come out. Once out, you will see the problem. Center stud broke or just came out of the center clip between the two seat halves.

Ok i figured out how to get the seat back off, by removing a screw at the drivers side then twist the back forward and wiggle it and it comes right off. The reason the inter back was flopping back was a screw was gone off the frame that connect the vertical side bar and it was flexing. A new screw fixed that. However one of the buttons on the front side popped off and the wire that holds it isn't strong enough to hold it so i guess i will have to buy a new one.

Bench Seat Problem

Seat is all back together, replaced the missing screw that holds the side arm and fixed the lose Button. However i still have the problem of the drivers seat, upper back still goes back farther at the inside edge vs. the edge closest to the window? So i did some searching and found that their is a plate that mounts to the lower bench seat? I do not have one and i do not have a rubber stoppers on the inside edge. Does both inter and outer edge of back supposed to have the rubber stoppers? Anyone have any pictures of a correctly restored Sedan with bench seats to see where that plate goes? Its not comfortable driving with the inside edge leaning back.
