Wow. Just 195 thousand. Mike

I'm far from an expert on these things but I'm told that these things wouldn't have had stock mufflers and the heads were unpainted.

A friend of mine was Don Yenko's pilot for many years and he knows what's what on these cars.

I'm pretty sure that there are more COPOs, Yenkos and Baldwins around now than were originally built. Any being offered now need serious paperwork to be considered authentic.

Definitely plane Jane looking.
They were purpose built and sold by GM to racers, and Chevy knew them guys would put big slicks and narrow fronts on them. No gitchy gleam stuff needed either.
Also, from what I understand that green color is sorta rare because not many people ordered it on ANY car. It seems that that green on a car makes a car really hard to sell.

A COPO Nova...note the emblem.

COPO

I think I saw somewhere that there was a COPO badge on the front fenders, not that it couldn't be removed when the car was repainted. Also I believe that if you had a green racecar you had to park it on the thirteenth floor of the parking garage.

So, a knock-off? That is what I thought when I first started reading the ad. When I got to the part that said the first owner was a States Attorney from New Jersey, then I knew it was fraudulent!

Seriously, if this is the real deal, selling it on eBay is really dumb. He said he is taking it out west. He should stop in Scottsdale in January and sell it there.

the aluminum head COP's had bare heads, the iron ones were painted.

Ok then what

That's nice but what are you going to do with it? Open the garage and how it off to party guests twice a year? Wrap it in diapers and drive it when there is 0% chance of rain or bugs? I love my GMs but would rather have anything Yenko for that $$$$!

remember back in the old days when green Indycars were considered bad luck? Don't know if I ever heard why....but you didn't see green race cars back then
Yeah I do and don't know why either.

Speaking of green, there's some really cool candy greens out there that actually look really nice. A two tone job on a tri5 would look pretty cool I think.
