For those that have installed Ford 9" rear ends, did you remove the center member bump stop and mount?
The way I see it, if the rear end ever got that high, the rear end pinion would be the point of contact which would not be a good thing.

I don't have a 9", but I also do not have a center bump stop. I only have the outer ones. I have a 12-bolt rear. I also have drop springs and 1" solid spacer blocks and taller than stock tires.

Yes, no center bump stop on mine. Just the factory '56 ones installed as per original.

In 55 they had one from the factory, none in 56 or 57?

I did have one originally when the car had the original rear end, but a new floor and no need, I eliminated it.

9" and no bump stop.

The bump stop as you call it is the pinion snubber and was not used on all 9" Ford rear ends, it depended on the body style. It was on the body of some cars.
