Yepper I had one, the Road Runner 383 with a 4speed. Yes it did talk in the right tone. The horn was another attention getter. Beep Beep!

I have heard and ridden in everyone of those.

The car not on that lists is Chevrolets pocket rocket. The 66 Nova SS 327 350 HP makes ear candy that has no equal.

Can any of those mufflers be bought today or are they all generic now? (except for late model cars)

AFAIK the major manufacturers still design their own mufflers for each new model; I don't know of any that buy stock mufflers from the muffler companies (although there may be a couple??)..
