Hello all,
I just finished the lsx swap into my 56 and hit what I feel is a major hurdle. Here are the specs
2004 lm7 5.3 drive by wire
4l60e
Vats removed stock ecm
12573059 tac module
1997 6.5 diesel gas pedal
The problem I am having is the pedal to throttle ratio. At 50% pedal travel the computer shows/gives 100% throttle. This makes the throttle VERY sensitive. The car is drivable but I feel it is unsafe due to how touchy it is.
I have Google'd the issue to death and it seems common but I have yet to find a a resolution. One note I have taken away from the research is some folks report this issue when mixing parts (tac/pedal/tb/ecm) and others see the same taking all the donor parts (tac/pedal/tb/ecm) from the same running/driving donor vehicle that had normal throttle modulation prior to the swap.
I have talked to 3 different tuners about this issue and have gotten different answers. Here is how the tuner conversations went.
1.) Said he has seen this on every 03-05 dbw swap and that he has never devised a fix. (Did the bench tune for me and has been stellar to work with)
2.) Said it is a mismatch between tac/pedal/and TB and has to be fixed via hardware swapping, you can never mix and match components
3.) Said it is a mismatch between tac/pedal/and TB but can almost 100% be tuned out. He also said tac/pedal/tb should match, but uses the diesel pedal all the time without issue. He also went on to say if cable tb is an option, he almost always prefers that route.
Looking for any ideas here and not to just throw money away. Thanks in advance. I will get a detailed build list up soon.
