Thanks for posting that photo, not because of the 56's, but rather the convertibles that show the factory installed PLASTIC COVER on the convertible
tops as they left the assembly plant. The 55 Trim book shows an illustration of this, but I had never seen a photo of one on a car.

And none of them have a radio antenna.

 

Dealer installed option, and many customers didn't want to pay the cost for any radio.

 

I only see 1 nomad and 3 convertibles

 

And now those radio delete plates they all threw away at the dealers are worth a fortune for an old crappy one.

 

Many were offered for sale as NOS: "found in an old Chevy Dealership". I don't even recall a parts book listing for
the radio block off plate......but maybe there was.......
