It's been 8000 miles since my Bronze gear failure.
I have a Roller Cam of unknown manufacturer. After much back and forth I replaced the Bronze Distributor gear with a melonized gear.
I had checked the Melonize gear a couple of times since replacement. It seemed fine.
It's been 8000 miles and thought I should check the cam gear.
I pulled the distributor and with my not so great bore scope checked the cam gear.
The gear its self looks pretty good, except I notice some maring on the very top of the cam gear. Not a A typical wear pattern.
It is not real clear in the Pic. I cant think what may have caused this. It could be left over from the Bronze gear failure? Or?
I reset the collar on the MSD Pro Billet Distributor. I can't say it changed much. I did remove the second Distributor gasket that I had installed the last time I had the distributor out.
Any thoughts?
What do you think of the distributor gear wear pattern?
