** Seat Relocation

I am nearing the assembly stage of my '55 two door sedan. One of the things I plan to do is move the seat back a couple of inches. Everything I have read about the subject refers to moving the seat mounts rearward on the floor, generally via relocation brackets. This has a bit of an adverse effect on the fit of the carpet. Is there a reason that I don't hear about people relocating the seat on the sliders? That way the junction between the floor and the sliders will be unchanged. I am just brainstorming out loud. I will study my seat a bit tonight to see if it is a viable option. Any input is welcomed. Thanks!

Thanks for the input. The idea is to not use the adapter plates under the seat adjusters. However, there is not enough room to make the change between the seat and the adjuster, I guess I'll have to go with the adapter on the floor. They couldn't be more simple to make, I was just trying to avoid mucking up the fit of my Daytona cartet.
