I'm considering replacing my Original iron Powerglide with a 4 speed Standard. The trans will need to be gone through before I reinstall it if i keep it. The car was disassembled when I bought it and i'm not sure if the trans is good or not, id hate to put it back together and find out the car wont move then have to take it back out. My question is should I sell or trade my trans for the 4 speed or just keep the OEM Powerglide (pros/cons)? What standard should I be looking at if I go that way?
p.s. it's a 57 2dr Ht Belair with a 283
