Found this at work today, yes we all have good and bad welds but I'm thinking this one I have to draw a line.....even my first time wasn't this bad :sign0020:

So go out and buy a welder and know that you can do better than what one of the Big 3 are paying for!

Most hobby guys like me are using cracker box stick welders and the low end version of a MIG. My Mig is a 175 Miller with no add-ons. I think the cheapest 220V welder they made at the time.

I am here to tell you, that the REALLY good quality welding machines DO make a difference, even when used by a relatively inexperienced person.

I went to a single welding seminar class that was being put on by Century Welders before they sold out to Lincoln.

I was allowed to use one of their high end stick welders and high end Mig welders. Much easier to weld. Even for me, the welds looked almost professional with full penetration--even on overhead welds. BUT--- These were $2000 welders 20 or so years ago.

What exactly was that part? As far as grinders go, those who can REALLY weld don't need grinders, well rarely anyway. Me, I need a grinder!

For AC arc welding I have found that those new rods (forget what they are called) but you simply strike an arc and hold it against the steel, you don't need to or want to attempt to hold the rod from the metal as with the "old fashioned" rods.

It was cradle for an automotive component, sorry for being vague I'm protecting the innocent, simple steel pallet holding product with 4 uprights for stacking, 2x2x1/4 risers .......the jims just don't give a crap , they're just collecting a check

Wonder why vehicles are so costly!

And I apologize if yer name is Jim it's my go to name for anyone and anything.
Kinda like a jimmy thing:tu

Those welds if that is what they are can't be fixed with all the grinders in the world. They should be put in a dumpster ,and their handles taken away. 15-20 years WOW. :bowtier:
