So the flywheel finally went. Almost a week after installing the new starter too. Didn't experience any grind until yesterday, that's when in took out 4 teeth completely. Pulling the tranny and bellhousing to get to the flywheel today. Shaking has stopped, was in the process of tuning carb and playing with lash settings. Noticed with the aluminum heads that a tighter cold lash works better than setting em a little loose. Anyway when I get the flywheel out I'll post a pic.

Sorry I know its been a while since I have posted and I would like to share what I found to those of you who were helpfull from the start. I pulled the motor and found that the flywheel inner hole diameter was too small for the crank flange. The bolt pattern diameter is correct, the register calls out 2.485 which is what the eagle crank measures, the McLeod flywheel measures 2.445. With the bolts torqued down the flywheel was not square with crank flange. I had to pull the motor to remove flywheel. Initially I used 1/4 plate steel and modified a gear puller and all that did was turn 3 flat 6" pieces to an S shape. All main bearings are toast and not sure if crank can be turned. I'm in the bay area and have used Bacas in south San Fran and have considered Nick Rescino shop. In the bayview any suggestions for no bullshit machine work not a fan of having a shortblock where the pistons sit out of the hole at TDC.

Wow what a mess you have to deal with, but at least you have an answer. Moss Beach hey? I was just out there Tuesday and Wednesday at the airport teaching driver training. I grew in HMB as well, but moved inland many years ago. I believe Gotelli's still has a machine shop at their place in SSF, if they don't they would sure know where to send you.

Ya not a bad idea, I'll give ted a call and see if they grind cranks , pretty sure their capable of everything else. Gonna take some new pics, since the motor pull, I smoothed the firewall(best I could) and rhino lined the inner front fenders and front apron. Gonna run fender wells this time, check mark on the bucket list!! Have a great weekend.

Just as a heads up, your cold lash should be set tighter than the recommended hot lash. My lash settings hot are .012 and I set mine at .009 cold and it comes right in at .012 hot. I noticed in your earlier post you were setting the cold lash looser than the recommended hot lash.
