Would like to build correct motor for my 1956 Nomad. Looks like it was built Oct 24 of 1955. It is a 4 barrel dual exhaust car with power glide transmission . Long block appears to have been replaced at some point. Any leads would be appreciated :)

The casting number for the 56 heads that you want is 3725306. The intake manifold is casting number 3737109. The exhaust manifolds are casting number 3837069 for the drivers side, and 3836968 for the passenger side. The block casting number is 3720991. For the block to be correct, you will also need to provide the original transmission information. This is needed so that the engine ID code suffix that is stamped on the engine is also correct. All of the castings date codes should also be a few weeks to a month prior to the car's approximate build date.

If you have the correct build date, then may I ask what is the body number that is stamped on the engine compartment cowl tag? This must be a very early production 1956 Nomad. There were 8103 total produced in 56. My Nomad was a late production car, with body number 7860.
