The same question was asked here about 10-12 years ago. It was partially resolved, but I don't remember the answer. I think a member from the Middle East had the same accessory and/or Sears or Montgomery Wards offered it. Maybe you could remove it and look for identification on the back side.

Even more recently. Guessing within the past 5-6 years. Likely something that comes around every so often since they were last sold and forgotten.

It looks like a '55 grill bar to me.. Very rare! or...
Probably most of them died (of embarrassment) the first two years they were installed...

Just an after market nic nack to dress up (or screw up in my OP) the otherwise perfect oval grill of the 55.........

Seen them many times, never going to see one on any of my 55's

Would be an aftermarket accessory.

I have an after market 57 grill bar accessory cover as the grill bar often are cracked on a 57. I like the cover as its an unusual talking piece.

probably J.C.Whitney. I believe they sold grill stuff for other years too. remember something on a 57 grill. not many for obvious reasons. :gba:

This is one of Don's cars. He is over in Wildwood GA. (He is a Danchuk dealer and has a couple of barns full of used parts. )
