A bunch of us spent the day working on Phil's (Ratpackin) 150 57 today. Nothing like a bunch of car guys working on one car to get the job done. It might of taken a bit longer with all the extra help, but it was sure fun:sign0020: Couple more days like this and Phil will be back on the road after a brief hiatus:roll eyes:

We had a variety of different chores today. We had to finish the front brake system we started a month ago, seems some of the parts were not the right parts from CPP, never seen that before! :sign0020: So with the replacement parts we got the new brakes on and the steering back together. Crazy, had to remove the header to get the old A arms off and put in the new tubular ones on the driver side. Well its back together again, but a little harder getting that header back in with a new master cylinder and power booster in the way:) I'm still shocked that the valve cover will come off that big block:D

Phil has some wiring to do before we get in there to fire up the beast, but it should make this summer showing!

Off and on rain today, but these guys showed up in the morning more than ready to jump in. They re-built the suspension and installed the power disk brake system. I ended up running as go-fer, did odd jobs and kept them supplied with beverages and food. For the most part I observed. I learned a lot, not the least being how fortunate I am to have capable friends able and willing to help me get this car on the road. These local Nor Cal guys are the some of the best!
A big thanks go to Randy (Randy 57), Mel (Mel56), Ron, Glen, Dan and John. :tu

The "A" team.

Phil,
You scored big time, good friends are priceless, and to add to the score, they're Chevynuts.:sign0020:
Looks like the work is going according to the plan.:tu
The pic definitely shows the work rank of the team, the fella in the white shirt just has to be the supervisor/team leader.:sign0020:
Good luck on the project, wish I could have been there to assist, I'm well trained in serving beverages with a little white towel draped over my arm, "your drink sir".:sign0020:
Nice looking 57, hope to see more pics of it , a big block, dual quads, super, I like it.:congrats:
Don't forget the pics,:pics-1:

Later,:burnout:
Jim

Man, I wish you guys were here! How many times do I wish I had a friend (or two, three, four?) to help me out. The feeling you have when you're up against something you haven't done before that's very challenging and out of your wheelhouse is total frustration; especially when it's not going well and my wife comes out and says, "anything I can do to help?" and then she gives me some ideas after seeing what I am doing. Of course, the ideas are not practical ones so I thank her then go back to sitting on my little stool to recharge enough to tackle the problem again. Kudos to you guys for being there for Phil!:tu:congrats::shakehands:

Usually we count on Mel to take pictures of all the activity at our tech sessions but I think he was distracted by some basketball plans[emoji13] not to mention the nut he dropped and we never found[emoji33] But without his pictures you will have to understand we have a blast doing these. No one is exempt from the teasing or ribbing. Most of us learn something new at these get togethers and it's not always about the cars[emoji6]

Darn - I thought diving under the car when that camera came out would have worked.

Wish I was closer and I could be a part. That group is pretty special in this day and time. Great work guys. :congrats: :bowtier:
