Your TV cable should have a black plastic clip on the end. That clip attaches to the throttle linkage, not the little ball at the end of the cable. Some carburetors come with the proper linkage for the TV cable but you need to add the stud that the plastic clip attaches to.
I have a QF carburetor and it’s linkage looks similar to your picture. According to the instructions the middle hole on the bottom is intended to be used with a TV cable, just needed to add the stud.

 

When mounting the TV cable to the carb I'd be Certain that you're using the correct bracket mounting point. Incorrect stroke/travel on the cable Will result in the trans self-destructing.
