Show us your fav. burger stand drive in car hop

This one opened 1954 the year I was born.

Still has car hops, with best burgers and soft ice cream.

In Canada so it is closed for winter.

Glass of root beer with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it.

Back in the 70's, when I lived in Wisconsin, on my way to the cabin up north I went through a little town that had a drive in I'd stop every time I went by. You could get six BIG burgers for $5.00, I'd eat burgers all weekend.

In my town A&W, Dairy Queen, and most all other oldschool places left town years back. The only one left here is Fosters. I used to ride my Stingray bike down there when I was a kid. I left quite a few black skid marks on the concrete from sliding up with the slick I had on the back. lol

I remember watching the people there making hamburger patties by hand, now everywhere I go (including there) the patties are a perfect circle so you know they came out of a plastic bag from the freezer. It sucks but I still go there now and then for the car shows and the memories.

Not the one in my town but sorta the same,

These people have one in Grantsburg Wi and another in Taylors Falls Mn. If you drive in with a classic car, you get a 10% discount on your order. Great food.:bowtier:

Sam's Drive-In in Byron, IL. We went there in 2014 during the Meltdown Drags. Really good "Sam Burgers" with special sauce, homemade root beer, soft ice cream. This is my Dad with my wagon, it was his 51st Birthday. Can't wait to go back this summer and buy a couple gallons of root beer to bootleg home :)

Guys in Detroit might remember early 60’s a place called Stewarts down by the lake in Leamington Ontario Canada.
Car hangout and the Americans would come over looking to run the cars.
Story’s are told about a mobile starting line tree being used and money changing hands weekly.
Guys would meet up at Stewart’s yak, yak, yak and then head out to the farm land with open quiet roads.
And our guys might have visited Woodward at times also.
