Looking for a column cable adapter kit that goes from original column to powerglide trans. I see the kits that go to the TH trans but do not know if they work for PG. Thanks

If your referring to the Lokar cable shift, the power glide doesn't have a pan like the TH, so you would have to fabricate something to hold the cable sheath. https://www.trifive.com/d1/garage/56 Chevy Assembly Manual/313-7.gif

Ok, thanks. The original linkage is a bit sketchy and is why I wanted a cable shift replacement.

Do you have worn out bushings? The stock linkage is pretty bulletproof & dependable.

You can buy a bushing kit for the original for much cheaper than the cable kit.

My experience with the Lokar cable kit when I swapped my transmission to a 4L80 is that the clamp on the bottom of the steering column blocked the detent and I couldn't get the transmission out of Park. I wound up using a rod instead.

Stick to original tough as nails, it could be your PG trans mounts that need replacing if your having trouble selecting gears.
