I believe that there are two different types, one is fitted...the most expensive, and one is flat. The Danchuk appears to be the fitted variety, however I would call them and ask if it is. I used one of the fitted type a few years ago with good results, no complaints about it. I would mention that as far as I know both types are sourced outside of Danchuk, that is Danchuk does not manufacture either, so IMHO buying from one dealer vs. another would be a matter of price and shipping cost. I will be buying another in the very near future and will be purchasing another fitted type. Danchuk's price(at least currently) beats Eckler's by about $27.00, both will hit you for oversized shipping. Good luck

Not exactly sure what you mean but the old pad needs to come out and replace it with the new one.

 

Are you referring to a sheetmetal replacement on the outside or the firewall pad inside?

My mistake, you're looking for a sheet metal cover up to put over top of your firewall, not a firewall pad.

 

I can see why you thought that, this is the stock forum, the question should have been asked in the modified forum.

 

He still hasn`t clarified which firewall pad he is talking about.

I agree- I didn't know Joe had those when I did mine. These you have to replace the old firewall, where the other is a weld over.

I would have gone with Joe's if I knew it was available as it is recessed.
