Keep Daylight Saving Time or Get Rid of it?

I'm for getting rid of it. I grew up in AZ and they did away with it in 1968.

It's changing the clocks twice a year that I think is silly. So, If you want to stay DST but not change, vote Get Rid of it.

If it were put up for a national vote, do you think the voting public would nix it?

I wish they would. Why is this decided for us?

Get rid of it! One reason they said we needed it here in Indiana was because so the farmers could be in the fields longer. All the farmers that I know have always just reached over and pulled the light switch on their tractor or combine and kept running as far into the night as needed to get job done. They dont worry whether its light out or not.

Go ahead and cast your vote in the poll. I see you didn't.

Just to clarify what I was looking for, I'd count this for a vote of Get Rid of it.
I don't see that it matters what the permanent setting would be. Daylight time, Standard time or half way between. As long as we don't change. It's the changing that doesn't make sense to me.
If the time stays the same, the terms Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time become meaningless.

If we keep it; do we leave the clocks ahead like now?
If we get rid of it; do we set the clocks back like in the Fall?
I'm confused... Is DST forward or back? (Which one is normal?)

I like the light in the evening but I am not sure how to vote.

If you are for picking either one and not changing the clocks ever, than vote Get Rid of it.

Keep the clocks ahead an hour? Keep the clocks set back an hour? Some want it one way and some the other. How about splitting the difference and setting them back a half hour (now) and keeping that time? That should make everyone happy.

I like that idea.

This is where the split the difference option that DavidY proposed might help and make both sides happy.

Yes you did.

I would like to see the study where DST saves electricity. I don't get how that works. In my house, we use more artificial light in the AM. when the days start getting longer, we use the natural morning light until DST kicks in and we are back in the dark using artificial light. I'll take AZ time thank you.
