All the memories are flooding in now that I am logged on Tri-Five thinking about my dad. He passed last week, Feb 25th one day before his 96th Birthday! It was peaceful, my younger brother and I were there when he passed to the Kingdom of Glory. I looked up to him, he always had the answer. If we ever asked him of something within reason his reply was "No Problem" He was a good man and made us appreciate what we had as he made us work for it. He was a veteran of WW II and in Korea serving from 1945 to 1953 from Recruiting, Drill Sargent and ending as Sargent Major in the US Eighth Army KMAG unit. He was very proud of his service to our country and knew Freedom is not free.
He was a car guy, had a 52 Dodge when he and mom first got married in "51 but after that Chevrolet all the way!! WE ALWAYS talked cars, I got him into classic cars when I had my 1966 Chevelle back in the 90s, he found an original survivor 70 Chevy Monte Carlo 43,000 miles 400 SB. He had one back when they were new. The same color to boot. WE attended car shows together for many years. Being an Army guy, he was always ready at the crack of dawn. We built a 69 Chevelle together for my son. I also got him back into shooting and we competed together in many NRA pistol matches over the years. WE had a great life growing up in much simpler times. He will be missed but never forgotten. Miss ya dad. Thanks for listening my friends.

So sorry for your loss...sounds like you had many great years with him and that he was able to live a long life surrounded by good friends and family. Cherish the time you had with him.

My sincere condolences - sounds like he was not only a father, but a good friend. You will have memories to cherish from now on. How fortunate that he had such a long full life, and that you were able to share so many years of it.
