My camera is broke.....So, I can't include photos with the update narratives.....I will have to do that at a later date.
Last week I was able to get the springs, control arms, and spindles assembled onto the car....All looks good with the silver control arm color, contrasting the black frame and springs.....Yesterday, I connected-up the steering linkage, which I had painted silver as well......Did a tempory install on the steering box and wheel.
I decided that I would not rely on the tredle vac drum brakes for stopping us any more....The stopping was good....However, the single system, wth no way to make it dual, made it unsafe in my mind....So, I installed a set of the Chevelle disc brake brackets that I had laying around, looking for a home.....I then went to temporarily install the wheels....So, the car at least be a roller again....That's where I ran into difficulties.
The rotors are scraping on the upper spindle bolts....Got a good deal on a kit from a member here and it was missing the bolts......I didn't realize at the time that the top bracket to spindle bolts heads were thinner than the originals....So, I'll have to solve that little issue....I could get them machined down, if I have to.
