This has been discussed before, but not resolved. I am of the opinion that clocks were standard equipment, some others feel they were optional. The currently available delete covers are the 1500/2100 series' style, without the aluminum patterned cover. The delete covers that are sometimes seen with the aluminum cover seem factory made which lends support for the theory that the clock was deletable. They may have been a delete option. Since the Assembly Manual only shows 1500 and 2100 series' covers, the assumption can be made that the clocks were standard on the 2400 series and no cover was needed. This might have been a dealer item rather than factory. I'd be interested in knowing if the Bel Air covers that exist have the raised star in the center under the covering or are they flat. And is the mounting hardware the same as the others? Who Knows? :dontknow:
