Good progress so far David. Are the treadle vac and other original components all going back on?

Is that trans getting an upgrade too then? I read the whole post but maybe I missed something.

HMMM...Onion :confused0006: You got me on that one Dale....Not sure what's meant by that.

Like the layers of an onion. I wanted to clean up the front end on my wife's driveable 210 by painting the radiator filler panels. Not that many bolts, right? As I tried to take those off I realized one "hard to get to" bolt was through the lower splash shield so those came off too. Since those were off I figured I would remove the core support to get the black paint to match. But as I removed that I wanted to repaint the grille bar to match too. With that off it was only a few more bolts to get the fenders off and get the inner fenderwells to match. With those off the hood was no longer supported so it came off. Now that I had complete access to the firewall I might as well get that cleaned up. Well since I cannot get to the lower part of the firewall I might as well remove the engine and trans since there is nothing in the way now. Since the engine and trans is out I might as well replace the Power Burp with a TH350 and change from 2BC to 4BC.

A big onion. Sound familiar?

Have you looked down the service hole to see if the gutter and top of the cowl are free of coastal treasures?

May I suggest tossing their hardware and using buttonheads. Stainless for light colors and black oxide for dark. I liked the pin in version but either looks good.

Dale...All of the firewall pad fasteners will be tossed...The holes are already filled in...Only a buttonhead fastener for the Vintage AC will be used....Here is a shot of Roger's firewall....Mine will be like this (I hope) without the cruise control box.
