If I understand SPI directions, I have to prime it again with a poly primer before the 2K base and clear coat....Does that sound right to you?

It depends if you are in the window, or added more filler that would need sealing. That firewall is taking some time,:sign0020: but will be worth it . Nice thread , keep it coming. :shakehands:

May I suggest tossing their hardware and using buttonheads. Stainless for light colors and black oxide for dark. I liked the pin in version but either looks good.

Dale...All of the firewall pad fasteners will be tossed...The holes are already filled in...Only a buttonhead fastener for the Vintage AC will be used....Here is a shot of Roger's firewall....Mine will be like this (I hope) without the cruise control box.

I'm under the assumption that you have a window of a few days that you can spray the paint right over the epoxy on there now.. or use a sealer coat of SPI epoxy and paint over that.

Hey Pops, you held off longer than I expected. I think your first post in this thread was in March, here it is now September and you've pulled the engine. How does crow taste? Ha Oh, and by the way, great looking progress, thanks for keeping us posted.

I'm afraid so Terry.....I have promised myself that the engine will not be coming out this time around.....Will have to do the firewall the best I can.

I'm probably older than you (67 1/2), but when I grow up in the trifive world, I want to be just like you, and that I am serious about.
