I see these advertised on Ebay and was wondering about the origin. Are they a new customized version? An old customised version? They look kind of cool so just interested.

The original blue dots were made by cutting glass marbles in half and gluing them in the center of the tail light lense... the tail lights of the 1920 and 1930 cars were very small and were 6 volt systems... The blue dots helped to make the car easier to see in the dark... Later, DaveSo when did blue dots first come out? I may be out of touch but only have seen them since I started working on the Chevy and never noticed them on an actual car.
Isnt it funny that such a small piece of colored glass can make such a huge color difference :tuThe original blue dots were made by cutting glass marbles in half and gluing them in the center of the tail light lense... the tail lights of the 1920 and 1930 cars were very small and were 6 volt systems... I don’t like them either. When I step on the brakes I want bright red lights to come on to alert the drivers behind me. A shade of purple may look cool but it doesn’t register in the brain the way a bright red light does. The last thing I want is someone rear ending my car because they didn’t see my brake lights in time.I don't like them but it's a personal choice.
